I've never used one, but from the description it sounds like loads of fun! I need a decent noisemaker pedal, might see if I can hunt down some audio demos.

Ok people I need some assistance !

Im trying to place my effects in a good order to try and get the best sound possible but I need a bit of advice ! Now I have looked on google for effects order placement of which i found and got some good advice from it but i wanted to ask you guys what you think especially because i am using a line selector pedal and im not sure how that comes into play with regards to placement of effects.

Ok so I have the boss ls2 line selector, it has channel a and channel b and then another plug in thing, excuse my stupidity but i dont know what its called, some sort of bypass that goes from amp to guitar i spose, just connects everything up !!

Ok so here goes:

AMP - to bypass thing on line selector to tu2 tuner to guitar.

channel A on line selector, send/output - to input BOSS BF2 FLANGER, output flanger to input ELECTRO HARMONIX SMALL CLONE, output small clone to input LINE 6 DELAY DL4, output to return/input line selector.

channel b on line selector, return/input - to output BOSS DD3 DELAY, output delay to input BOSS MT2 DISTORTION, output distortion to input JIM DUNLOP ROTOVIBE, output rotovibe to send/output.

I COULD HAVE EXPLAINED THAT A BIT BETTER AS YOU WILL SEE I STARTED ON THE SEND OUTPUT ON CHANNEL A AND ON CHANNEL B I STARTED ON THE RETURN/INPUT, THE REASON FOR THAT IS JUST BECAUSE I HAVE 3 PEDALS EACH SIDE OF THE LINE SELECTOR AND IT WAS JUST EASIER TO LOOK AT HOW THEY ARE AND WRITE THAT DOWN, I DONT WANT TO GO CONFUSING MYSELF NOW DO I.

Now then what are your thoughts ???????? Is this as correct as possible or does it need a bit of a switch round.

It takes ages to switch round all the cables and wires etc so i just wanted to ask you guys.

I used to have in channel a the chorus before the delay but i cant remember how it sounded for some reason i think it sounded better but as i say its the hassle of switching everything around and then switching it back if it sounds crap.

My main concern is the jim dunlop rotovibe as its a chorus and vibrato pedal with a switch at the side to change between the two and a little knob to change the rate/depth etc and it has an expression type pedal.

Now I have that in channel b with my distortion and delay but im not quite sure where to put it.

Any thoughts and help on all i have said would be much appreciated !!

Thanks Smile

It's a matter of personal taste, but modulation effects (chorus, vibrato, tremolo etc) traditionally go before delays, distortion as well. The reason being that they will be included in the delayed repeats when you're using the delay. For that reason, delays should always go last in the chain.

When I got my first delay, I stuck it BEFORE my overdrive pedal and it sounded dead weird.

Usually the chain goes:

Guitar > Tuner > Distortion/Overdrive effects > Modulation effects > Delay > Amp.

I've never used these line selector things, because I feel that if I need one then I usually have too many pedals in the first place. That's just me being a spongy though Smile

Dunno if that helps at all.

its not a toy Mad , its a brightly coloured portable one.

and its a glockenspiel, not a xylophone.

i was inspired when I saw how many post rock bands used these exact ones and managed to track one down in a second hand music shop.
