there are three pedals i need to add to my rig

1. Line 6 Delay or BOSS DD6
2. Space Station
3. Some form or WAH pedal

thinking about it, i'd quite like a couple more distortion pedals to add to the 2 i already have. You can never have too many distortion pedals.

Its a multi effects pedal which i use for extra delay and tuning, its got other settings on but i dont really use it much so its just used for those. Unfortunatly the larger pedals are all powered from the mains but the boss and multi effects are thru the power unit. Big Muff via battery.#

I'd say get the dd-3 or the dm2 for the best delay. Forget the dd6 its a waste of money IMO. The dm2 is quality, very rare though.

Get on ebay boys Smile

yeah but there is a lot more options now with delays, like reverse delay and stuff like that and how long the delay sustains for, which i assume they did not have on the older pedals.

True hence why i have the dl4, but its all personal preference really. Go for what suits you and your playing.

I've heard the DL4's excellent, but I haven't played through one to know!

Boss' rival to the DL4 is the DD-20, which I have. It's excellent; you can fine tune the delay time with the knob, cycle through about 10 modes, do some MINOR looping, and you can also save your favourite settings in any of the 4 available memory slots. The best thing I've found with it is the 'tap tempo' function, allowing me to set the delay time on the fly by matching the beat with my foot.

I'm sure a lot of the above features are featured in the DL4; I just thought I'd mention Boss' pedal if you're looking to shop around a bit.

Tell me about it. I broke myself this term at uni by blowing my student loan on a new amp etc. I have some nice gear, but I'm now eating beans for tea! The joys of being a student Smile
