I think you misunderstood me. I meant what was the total amount they wanted to raise for the recording process !? I was just curious as to how much a band can record an album for ?

I know it varies depending on who/and how big the band/artist are.

I know that a band like Foo Fighters for example, spent a million dollars on the original 'one by one' album and then threw it away. I don't know how true that actually is but Dave said it on the 'back and forth' documentary.

Curious question - what was the pledge amount of money they wanted ? I know they reached their target but I was just curious as to what the sum of money was ?

it's not been made public.

assume every pledger bought the 12 CD they raised about 6,500. those numbers are obviously totally skewed though, could be 5,000, could be 7,500.
somewhere around there i'd guess.

They've raised 173% of their goal currently as well, so by the time they close the campaign they could've made double what they originally intended, or even more.

my numbers were based on the current number of pledgers.

they were very, very loose figures obviously.
and doesn't account for the money pledge take, manufacturing costs, postage costs etc. etc.

Or . . . thirteen years later (<--That is shocking) depending on your outlook on life Shocked

Maybe they are hoping to release it on the same date they did with their debut. Confused Confused

I'm a fan of GNR and My Bloody Valentine too so i'm use to wait zillions for a new song. xD
Releasing the new album the same day as they did with finelines would be a nice touch.
